Healthwatch Medway carried out a planned enter and view visit to Highcliffe Medical Practice Higham and Cliffe Surgeries in the week commencing 11th December 2017.
Three authorised representatives carried out the visit with the aim of speaking to a range of patients at the practice. They were also aiming to understand any pressures the practice was experiencing by speaking to staff members and the practice manager.
During the visit 102 patients were spoken to, 63 at Highcliffe Surgery and 38 at Cliffe Surgery. Permission was gained during an initial introduction to talk to the patients and everyone seemed keen to participate.
The majority of patients were happy with being able to get an appointment at the surgeries. Questions were asked relating to the appointment system and choice of doctors, treatment satisfaction and service from staff.
Recommendations were made to use signage to show toilet facilities and to keep doors closed for privacy of patients.
