Healthwatch Barnet conducted an unannounced Enter and View visit to Woodfield House, to review actions against recommendations made in a previous visit, on 19 March 2014.
The original visit in September 2013 was part of a planned strategy in response to concerns about the treatment of Mental Health patients in various locations in the borough. In this review visit, the Authorised Representatives were shown that 14 of the 15 recommendations made uring the original visit had been actioned.
The visiting team made three further recommendations during this visit: ensure that a system of recording and tracking complaints should be implemented. and that that these should be signed regularly by the manager; the minutes of the staff and residents meetings should be
signed regularly by the manager; personal alarms should be installed for each of the resident’s rooms as soon as possible.
The final recommendation is a reiteration of the recommendation that had not been actioned since the first visit.
There is a very positive response from the provider advising that the first two recommendations have been actioned, and outlining the method and timeline for achieving the final recommendation.
