Healthwatch Cornwall carried out an Enter and View visit to the Wadebridge and Camel Estuary Practice on 22 June 2026. Overall, patient feedback was positive, with many people describing staff as kind, caring and helpful. Patients appreciated the support they received from both clinical and reception teams, and several commented favourably on the level of care provided by individual clinicians. The practice environment was observed to be clean, welcoming and accessible, with clear information available to patients.
Patients reported mixed experiences of accessing appointments. Some were satisfied with the online booking and triage systems, while others found them difficult to use and preferred speaking to staff directly. Several patients highlighted long waits for non-urgent appointments and expressed concerns that online systems could create barriers for those who are less confident with technology. Reception staff were often praised for helping patients navigate these systems when needed.
Two recurring concerns were parking and communication. Patients described limited parking capacity and occasional difficulty finding spaces. Others raised concerns about appointment booking processes, particularly where they felt online systems replaced personal contact. A small number of respondents also shared negative experiences with reception interactions, although many others spoke positively about the support provided by reception staff.
Healthwatch concluded that the practice provides a generally positive service with caring staff and good patient experiences. Recommendations focused on improving information about parking, supporting patients who struggle with digital access, continuing to reduce appointment waiting times, ensuring hand sanitiser remains available, and reviewing feedback about reception interactions to support a consistently positive patient experience.
