Healthwatch Sunderland conducted an Enter and View visit to The village care home in August 2019. The representatives spoke to 11 staff, residents and relatives during the visit.
The report found that the management was considered to be kind, helpful and supportive. Residents and relatives regarded the staff as caring and do not rush. They also know each resident well and cater to their needs. A range of activities were on offer for residents including external trips. There was a choice of food and meals for residents which were well received. Residents are also visited by various health professionals including GPs, dentists and opticians. All cultural and religious needs are met within the home. All relative respondents gave positive responses when asked if they feel a welcome participant in the life of the home, they said, ‘definitely’ and ‘very much so’.
No recommendations were made and a service provider response is not included.
