On 2nd May 2019, Healthwatch Derbyshire undertook an Enter and View visit to Thornhill House to explore the quality of life and quality of care experiences within the service. The home is a purpose-built care home with 19 en-suite rooms providing accommodation for older people from the village of Great Longstone and the surrounding area.
They reported positive findings in relation to the home which included its location and exterior appearance, internal décor and physical environment, staff and resident interaction, residents’ physical, social, emotional and cultural welfare.
The report highlights some observed good practice and made six recommendations. The report contains a response from the provider to each of the recommendations made.
