Summary of report content

The Sylvester Care Centre is situated in Blackpool and caters for up to 25 residents who cater for individuals with complex and severe mental health issues, memory impairment or dementia.

The visit was arranged as part of Healthwatch Blackpool’s enter and view schedule and was conducted on 26th August 2016 where 9 residents offered their views.

Observation by the enter and view representatives reported that:

The residents who were consulted said that many residents praised the home highly, reporting that the Sylvester was peaceful and that it was easy for them to be able to make friends with other residents. It was also reported that the home was very well suited to their needs, the food was good, they enjoyed the activities provided and the staff were either good or very good in all aspects of caring.

The report did not offer any recommendations and the service provider did give a response to the findings.
