Summary of report content

Healthwatch Leicester and Leicestershire carried out an Enter and View visit to Sutton in the Elms Care home in June 2026 to understand the experiences of residents, relatives and staff and observe the care being provided.

The visit found a clean, welcoming and well-maintained home where residents appeared happy and well supported. Positive and respectful relationships between staff and residents were observed, with personalised care and a wide range of activities tailored to residents' interests and needs.

Strong links with GP and community health services were reported, although ongoing challenges were identified around access to domiciliary dental care, ambulance waiting times and some aspects of communication with external services.
