Summary of report content

Healthwatch Buckinghamshire conducted an Enter and View at Sunnyside, a nursing care home in Iver, Buckinghamshire, which provides care for up to 40 people, the majority living with Dementia.

The visit was conducted on 26th April 2017. The visit was unannounced on the day but the care home did receive 2 weeks’ notice that the visit was taking place and 14 people shared their views.

Observation by the enter and view representatives reported that:

Busy staff who talk patiently with residents but who didn’t seem to have time to interact with them beyond this.

There were few pictorial prompts for those living with dementia.

The comments about the home were mixed with many aspects of the home only receiving a 3 star rating. Following on from this, the enter and view team made recommendations with the service manager responding to provide feedback to give an update on how the home has addressed the recommendations.
