Summary of report content

Stonyhill Medical Practice is located in the south shore neighbourhood of Blackpool. The practice is based within a three-floored modern purpose-built primary care centre and shares the building with two other GP surgeries, a pharmacy and other community services.

The visit was arranged as part of Healthwatch Blackpool’s enter and view schedule and was conducted on 19th July and 20th July 2017 where 33 patients were asked for their views.

Observation by the enter and view representatives reported that:

The environment appeared clean a tidy with mostly appropriate and up-to-date information provided along with the surgery being accessible and having some dementia friendly adaptions.

The medical practice received a Green rating for overall access with the majority of patients stating that they didn’t having difficulty getting routine appointments with the patients also stating overall that they felt their experience of booking appointments was ‘excellent’.

The quality rating received an amber rating as patients stated that they were happy with medical and non-medical staff whilst also saying that they were ‘very satisfied’ with the quality of care received.

It was also reported that most patients had not heard of the surgeries Patient Participation

Group.

The enter and view team did not make any recommendations and even though Stonyhill Medical Centre was given chance to give a response to the report, they did not provide a response.
