Summary of report content

This Enter and View report reviews the quality of care provided at St. Raphael’s, a residential care service supporting adults with learning disabilities. Healthwatch Hounslow visited the home to observe the care environment, speak with staff and assess how well residents were supported to live independently and make choices about their daily lives.

The visit found a clean, welcoming and well-maintained environment where residents were encouraged to exercise choice, develop independence and participate in everyday activities. Staff described strong support from management and positive working relationships with residents and families. The report also highlighted good access to healthcare services, personalised support, varied activities and efforts to meet individual dietary, communication and wellbeing needs.

Healthwatch Hounslow concluded that St. Raphael’s was a well-run, person-centred service that supported residents holistically. The report identified examples of good practice across the home and made a single recommendation to review and update organisational policies and procedures to ensure they remained current
