Summary of report content

Healthwatch Buckinghamshire conducted an Enter and View at Shelburne Lodge, a nursing care home in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, which provides care for up to 54 people.

The visit was conducted on 25th July 2017. The visit was unannounced on the day but the care home did receive 2 weeks’ notice that the visit was taking place and 10 people shared their views.

Observation by the enter and view representatives reported that:

Residents and staff seemed very comfortable and open with each other

We saw many visitors pop in and out of the manager’s office on arrival

Residents told us they enjoyed everything arranged by the activities team

The comments about the home were positive with it being reported that the people in the home was happy and comfortable with the care they received from staff with the residents stating that they were “marvellous”.

After the visit, the enter and view team made slight recommendations and following this, the service manager stated that they was happy and very pleased with the report and they were looking forward to it being published.
