Healthwatch County Durham conducted an Enter and View visit to Rose Lodge Care Home. This work was carried out as part of Healthwatch County Durham’s Enter and View programme.
Key findings from the people who shared their experiences and opinions of the care home included positive feedback on: the effectiveness of the physical space, service and layout; social interactions and communication with the residents; and activities available for residents. Observation by the Enter and View Representatives found that residents in the home appeared to be very happy with the service overall.
Healthwatch County Durham made four recommendations for Rose Lodge Care Home regarding: celebrating and retaining the positive and caring culture of the home and its staff; managers considering the possibility of more personal showers, improvement to the laundry service and upgrading of tired lounge chairs; retaining the Activity Coordinators at the home; and retaining the systems and resources that allow the service to remain at the high standard evidenced by residents’ and their families’ positive feedback. The report includes a positive response from the service provider.
