Enter and view: Rock Cottage Care Service

Healthwatch Staffordshire conducted an Enter and View visit to Rock Cottage Care Service in February 2020. The care home provides residential care for up to 36 residents. 

The report found that staff were satisfied with the management of the home. They felt that they had received appropriate training and are encouraged to acquire further skills. Residents are able to go out for walks, although group outings are difficult due to lack of transport. There is a choice of food and drink for all residents. The home has a retained GP service who visit the home twice a week. The home does not often have residents or relatives meetings.

A number of recommendations were made to the home, including updating their satisfaction survey and investigating the malodours.

The service provider responded to these recommendations and disagreed with some.
