This report details the findings of an Enter and View conducted by Healthwatch Enfield at Nairn House. On 21st June and 14th July 2022, Healthwatch Enfield visited Nairn House, a nursing and residential care home in Enfield. Operated by Bupa, the home provides residential and nursing care to older people and younger adults, with specialist care available for respite and short stays, recovery post-operation or after illness, Parkinson’s and palliative care. The home may accommodate up to 61 residents, 51 were in occupancy at the time of the visits. The daily staffing complement includes 13 clinical staff (with 3 nurses) and 70 support and care staff members.
During the visits of 21st June and 14th July 2022, Healthwatch Enfield spoke with 13 residents, 4 relatives, 8 staff members and the manager (26 people in total). This report covers entry and general accessibility, Covid-19 and visiting, the general environment, medical and clinical needs of the residents, activities, diet and nutrition, feedback and complaints, personal care, and staffing and management.
