Healthwatch Sunderland carried out an Enter and VIew visit to Regents View Care Home in June 2019. This was carried out as part of Healthwatch Sunderland's ongoing Enter and View programme.
Healthwatch Sunderland used their observations, a questionnaire for residents, and questionnaires for staff and relatives to gather feedback on the home. The findings were used to score Regents View against nine key indicators: a strong, visible management; staff with the time and skills to do their jobs; good knowledge of each resident and their changing needs; a varied programme of activities; quality, choice and flexibility around food and mealtimes; regular access to health professionals; accommodation of residents' personal, cultural and lifestyle needs; an open environment where feedback is actively sought and used; and provide a physical environment that is suitable for the needs of the residents. Healthwatch Sunderland's ratings indicated they agreed or strongly agreed that all of these indicators were met - with the exception of staff having the time to do their jobs. Although it was strongly agreed that staff had the skills to do their jobs, there was mixed feedback about whether or not they had enough time to do this.
Healthwatch Sunderland did not make any recommendations.
