Summary of report content

This is an enter and view report conducted by Healthwatch Cheshire West 22 November, 2016. During the visit Healthwatch representatives spoke to people, which included a mix of staff and residents. The visit was unannounced.

Overall the home was found to be operating to a mixed standard. Residents seemed to be happy with the care they were receiving. However the manager has been trying to improve the home based on a previous CQC inspection.

Recommendations were made as part of this report. A response from the home manager has been attached.

Summary of recommendations:

- Continue with the upgrading and refurbishment of the home, in particular the downstairs shower room, the new hairdressing room and a larger space or room for activities.

- Ensure that all the good practice which has been introduced this year becomes embedded in the culture of the home.

- Check that everyone understands and can work with 'Care.docs'.
