Healthwatch Warwickshire undertook an enter and view visit on Red House Care Home, on 21st January 2019. The visit to Red House was in response to historical concerns received by Healthwatch Warwickshire. The purpose of the visit was to investigate whether there was any evidence to substantiate them. Four Authorised Representatives observed the care being given in the communal areas of the home, including the period over lunch. Additionally, two residents were interviewed in their own rooms. The Authorised Representatives also spoke to residents, relatives and members of staff in the communal dining area and lounge.
Healthwatch Warwickshire found that there was no evidence to substantiate the historical concerns. Healthwatch Warwickshire found that the overwhelming nature of their observations were positive. The residents appeared comfortable, well catered to and engaged in meaningful activity. Staff carried out friendly and respectful interactions with the people who lived there, recognising the importance of privacy. Residents, a relative of one resident and staff all gave positive verbal feedback about the home.
Healthwatch Warwickshire’s findings were positive and they made no recommendations.
