On 5th December 2017, Healthwatch Shropshire carried out an Enter and View visit to Radbrook Green Medical Practice. The purpose of the visit was to engage with service users and staff to explore the practice’s compliance with the NHS Accessible Information Standard.
Representatives contacted the practice’s Patient Participation Group (PPG) to encourage their input and spread word among the patients. On the day of the visit, representatives spoke to 8 patients and 3 members of staff, and made observations. Patients were asked to complete an anonymous questionnaire.
Areas explored include: noticeboards and information, hearing loops, alternative format, large text, correspondence and staff training.
Main findings highlight that patients are happy with the way the practice is run and the way staff communicate with them and several examples of good practice were noted.
The report makes 7 recommendations and contains a positive response from the Practice Manager, addressing the recommendations and acting upon suggestions.
