Healthwatch Cheshire West conducted an announced enter and view visit to Prospect House on 28 January 2015. The home provides care for residents who require nursing care and cares for people who are restricted under the Mental Health Act, have physical disabilities, disease, disorders or injuries. The team spoke with 9 residents, 5 relatives and 3 members of staff on the day of the visit using survey methods and their observations of the home informed the report’s findings.
The team found the home to be welcoming with a clean and warm environment. Staff were well trained and there was evidence of good interactions between staff and residents. The team observed a good activities programme, individual diets and medications catered for. The home has regular visits from Pets as Therapy and visits from the local choirs and schools.
The report did not make any recommendations to the home. The service provider responded to the report thanking the team for their visit.
