Summary of report content

Healthwatch St Helens carried out an Enter and View visit to Prospect House, a residential care home, on 10 October 2019.

The home has a homely atmosphere.  Staff have the right training and effort is made to instill the right ethos – that of caring for all the residents.  There is choice in food, and snacks and drinks are offered every two hours to ensure that residents eat and drink.  There is plenty of evidence that staff respect residents’ privacy and dignity.   There are good provisions for residents’ safety and security.  Residents have access to a GP, dentist and chiropodist

Healthwatch concluded that the Managers have worked hard to get the home back to a good standard and continue to work in partnership with the Quality Monitoring Team at St Helens Council.

There are two recommendations about ensuring that the home is odour free and to keep up the good work.

The report includes a response from the provider.
