Summary of report content

Healthwatch Bucks conducted an unannounced enter and view visit to Penley Grange home on 5 November 2015. The home provides care for residents with learning disabilities. The team engaged with all 5 of the residents, 2 staff members and the service manager during the visit and observed the running of the home to inform their findings.

The report found that residents’ privacy and personal choice were well respected, and residents appeared to be treated well and their care personalised. Staff were observed to be constantly engaging with the residents, creating a positive environment. The manager was praised for the creative in their ideas for days out and ideas for sensory stimulation. Each resident attends a day centre weekly in addition to activities both in and outside the home.

The report did not make any recommendations and did not include a response from the service provider.
