Key Findings

  • Residents and relatives were largely positive about the care and support provided.
  • The environment was clean, accessible and well equipped, with a variety of communal and outdoor spaces.
  • A broad programme of activities was available, tailored to residents' individual interests and needs.
  • The home demonstrated strong arrangements for nutrition, healthcare support and infection prevention.
  • Some residents were unsure about their risk assessments and emergency arrangements.
  • One family member reported not always being kept informed about significant changes in their relative's care.
  • Some staff requested additional training opportunities, and one staff member reported difficulties taking sufficient breaks.

Conclusion

Healthwatch concluded that Pemberley Manor is a well-run care home providing a positive living environment and good standards of care.
