Summary of report content

Healthwatch Cheshire conducted an Enter and View at Orchard Manor, a nursing and residential care home in Cheshire, which provides care for up to 93 people. The home comprises two units in the same building with one of the units situated on 3 floors, the lower two floors for residents with nursing and residential needs with the upper floor housing residents with dementia. The other unit has capacity for 45 residents with dementia.

The visit was conducted on 3rd October 2017 with the visit being announced that it would take place sometime in the following weeks but no set date was given.

Observation by the enter and view representatives reported that:

The home was a welcoming and pleasant home with the relations between staff and residents being good and the home having a good workforce

The comments about the home were positive (mainly about staff).

Following the visit, the enter and view team made one slight recommendation about working on strategies to build the staff team.

The service manager responded with feedback to say that the service was good and they couldn’t think of any improvements.
