Healthwatch Buckinghamshire conducted an Enter and View at Oakmead, a residential care home in Buckinghamshire, which provides care for up to 5 residents.
The visit was conducted on 8th February 2017. The visit was unannounced on the day but the care home did receive 2 weeks notice that the visit was taking place and 7 people shared their views.
Observation by the enter and view representatives reported that:
We saw everyone treat each other as equals and staff and residents have good rapport.
Staff seemed to encourage residents to be as independent as they could be.
Activities were scheduled in the evenings as well as during the day.
The comments about the home were mainly positive and after the visit, the enter and view team made recommendations with the service manager responding to provide feedback to give an update on how the home has addressed the recommendations.
