Healthwatch Liverpool gather information on people’s experiences of health and social care services and there are times when it is appropriate for Healthwatch Liverpool to see and hear for themselves how services are being delivered: these visits are called ‘Enter and View’, they are not inspections.
Healthwatch Liverpool visited The Fiveways Medical Centre on 9th July 2013.
The summary of findings of in relation to interviews with those that use the service, staff and observations. The findings inform OVMC is a modern well maintained building will highly motivated and welcoming staff. Signage specific to OVMC being located within the Fiveways centre is a matter requiring urgent attention. A very effective system of triage exists for the appointment system and this could be replicated across other centres after considering the evaluation due shortly. Patient access could be improved by a pedestrian crossing on Childwall Road. Location and number of disabled car park bays were satisfactory. The room temperature in treatment rooms was unacceptably high. Good engagement with patients and consultation on proposed changes.
