This is an Enter and View report by Healthwatch Enfield. Healthwatch representatives visited the Murrayfield care home to assess the care delivered there.
During the visit with five residents, three families, seven staff and senior staff
members and the deputy manager were engaged. Following the visit we engaged with three families by phone. In total, we spoke with 21 people.
There are recommendations in this report.
- Environment: Hygiene - one floor of the home not being clean enough
- Environment: Décor - lack of much additional decoration due to the ongoing renovations
- Environment: Rooms - residents items not placed around the rooms
- Environment: Plumbing and Drainage - problem with water flow
- Environment: Taps - likely related to above with slow hot water
- Personal Care: Call-Bells - these did not always seem present or accessible
- Involvement: Activities - no display of this or awareness, not enough assistance to go outside
- Involvement: Meetings - a lack of schedule that is up to date or regular
- Parking - this ends before visiting hours
- A Family’s Issues - one family had a number of complaints and should be met with
There are no follow up actions in this report. However the number of recommendations and details within the report suggests further work to be done by the home and a possible future Enter and View.
