Summary of report content

Healthwatch Cheshire East conducted an Enter and View visit on 8 August 2022 at Mount Pleasant Care Home.

Mount Pleasant Care Home has capacity to care for 40 residents who have dementia, a physical disability, or caring for those aged 65+. There is a specialist dementia unit next door which has 10 rooms. Between the two buildings, there were 39 residents at the time of the visit.

The building and grounds are neat and clean but are in need of maintenance and renovation. The communal rooms were clean and had enough seating for residents to be social. There is also ample outdoor seating.

Residents said they enjoyed the food and were happy with the choices provided. There are arranged activities which are tailored to suit all residents. The residents reported positively about the care from staff.

There were a few recommendations made for the home around renovating the building and decluttering the communal spaces, as well as encouraging residents to eat in the dining room rather than their own room. However, the findings from the visit were overall positive.
