Healthwatch Telford and Wrekin did this Enter and View due to receiving feedback about lack of care and medication concerns regarding the Morris Care Centre. Due to the nature of the feedback, Healthwatch Telford and Wrekin did the visit unannounced. The home is a 96 bedded care centre split across three areas. However, the centre currently only has 69 residents and is not taking new admissions until further notice.
The report assesses the centre against the following criteria: environment, essential services, access, safe, dignified and quality services, information, choice, being listened to, being involved, current challenges for the home.
The report makes fourteen recommendations, including: introducing Basic Sign Language level 1 for all staff, staff name badges, upkeep of garden areas, ensuring staff have more time to spend with residents, ensuring residents are able to call for assistance when required, and ensuring all residents are able to join in with activities if they want to.
