Enter and view: Meadows Court Care Home

Healthwatch Leicester and Leicestershire carried out an Enter and View visit to Meadows Court Care Home on 29 June 2026. Overall, the home was found to be clean, welcoming and well maintained, with residents, relatives and staff speaking positively about the care provided. Residents appeared comfortable and well cared for, and staff interactions were observed to be kind, respectful and supportive. The manager was described as visible and approachable, with an open-door approach that encouraged communication with residents, families and staff. 

Residents reported feeling happy, safe and well looked after. They praised the staff, food and activities, with one resident commenting that staff were “like family”. The home offered a varied programme of activities including bingo, arts and crafts, music sessions, outings and community events, alongside personalised one-to-one support for residents who preferred individual activities. Families were encouraged to be involved in events and care planning and spoke positively about the support provided.

The home was found to have good relationships with local healthcare services, including regular GP visits and support from district nurses, opticians and therapists. The main challenge identified was access to dental services, with managers reporting ongoing difficulty securing routine dental care for residents. One resident also highlighted loneliness linked to a language barrier, while others expressed a desire for more opportunities to go out. 

Healthwatch concluded that Meadows Court provides a caring, person-centred service where residents generally feel respected, supported and involved in decisions about their daily lives. No major concerns were identified, and the report highlighted positive communication, resident choice, family involvement and a strong activity programme as key strengths of the home.
