Summary of report content

Healthwatch Staffordshire conducted an Enter and View visit to Marlyn House, an 18 bed residential care home, on 6 March 2018. The visit was conducted to find out whether the Home met the eight Quality Indicators for Care Homes developed by Independent Age.

The Healthwatch Staffordshire Enter and View Authorised Representatives reported their view that the manager provides good leadership to the staff and has good interaction with the residents. The staff were observed to be motivated, and felt that they were appropriately trained and felt that they received good support from the manager and owner.

The visit covered the lunch service and the visiting team noted that residents were able to choose what they wanted and that support was given as necessary. They also reported that the food looked and smelt good. The report notes that residents have good access to healthcare professionals and that the residents seemed to be very happy. The Authorised Representatives wrote that it was lovely to see and hear the residents enjoying activities as a community.

There were no recommendations made, and no response from the provider.
