Summary of report content

Healthwatch Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead undertook an enter and view visit to The Manor Care Home on 28 April and 1 May 2025. The team spoke to nine residents, heard from seventeen relatives, fourteen members of staff, and spoke to the manager.

The focus was on independence and choice and the team looked at activities as well as food and drink. In addition a walk around was conducted using The King's Fund dementia friendly tool to assess if the criteria was being met by the home.

The team spoke with residents, families staff and the manager to gain feedback.

The home was in the process of being refurbished and the garden had been updated, which proved to be very popular with the residents, along with a greenhouse so that the residents could grow various fruit and vegetables.

Recommendations included introducing raised beds in the garden, using the garden more, personalising bedroom doors, and recruiting more volunteers.

A revisit will take place later in the year to check on the progress of the recommendations.
