Summary of report content

Healthwatch Leicestershire conducted an announced Enter and View visit at Lutterworth Country House Care Home in November 2017. The purpose of the visit was to follow up from a previous Enter and View visit to see whether recommendations from the original visit had been taken on by the provider. Local intelligence had highlighted issues around dignity in care, dietary and food choices and staffing.

Two Enter and View representatives engaged with 8 residents, 2 relatives and 4 staff members during the visit. Representatives explored: dignity, dietary requirements and food choice, staffing and training, activities, environment, visitors and GP support with medication and treatment. The report looks back at recommendations made and how the Home have addressed these.

The report highlights many areas of positive impact as a result of the original Enter and View visit: a recruitment drive is taking place to address staff shortage, a new wet room has been installed, noticeboards have been updated and staff uniforms have been reviewed. Interaction between staff and residents was observed to have improved during this follow-up visit.
