Summary of report content

In December 2017, Healthwatch Rutland carried out an announced enter and view visit to The Lodge Trust, as part of a programme of visits to all Care Homes in Rutland to look at the quality of life of residents.

Representatives visited the premises and made observations over a three-hour period and spoke with staff and residents.

Findings showed that staff and residents were complimentary of the service and broad range of activities are available to support social engagement. It was also highlighted that residents are happy with the support they receive from the local GP surgery.

The report makes 3 recommendations to the provider: to improve signage, ensure safety procedures regarding sharp objects are adequate and ensure all doorways can be easily navigated by wheelchair users. The provider responded to the report and has commented on all recommendations made.
