Summary of report content

Healthwatch Barking and Dagenham conduced an Enter and View visit to Lodge Avenue Independent Living Unit. The team engaged with 5 residents and members of staff, in addition to observing the quality of care and interaction. The visit was focused on four main areas of interest; nutrition, personal hygiene, health and wellbeing and interaction with staff.

Residents were supported with their nutrition and given choice in their meal times. Similarly, residents were given autonomy over their personal hygiene when support was required. There was good access to primary and secondary care, although the report acknowledges that the residents they engaged with did not access any regular forms of exercise. Residents were pleased with the interaction with staff and were respected when they didn’t want to engage.

The report was positive about the unit and did not make recommendations from this enter and view visit.
