Summary of report content

Healthwatch Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead visited Larkland House in August 2026 to conduct an Enter and View visit. There were also residents from Bracknell Forest in this care home. The visit had been delayed from July due to the extreme heat.

The focus was on independence and choice. Particular attention was paid to activities and food.

Surveys were left for relatives and staff and a QR code was provided so that people could opt to respond online. On the day of the visit the team spoke with five residents.

A lunchtime observation was carried out in two of the three dining rooms and the team also spoke with the manager and the activities lead.

Overall relatives and residents were happy with the care they were receiving and the food and activities. Good interactions between staff and residents were seen and a positive response was received to the recommendations made in the report.
