Healthwatch Cheshire West conducted an Enter and View visit to Kingscourt Nursing Home on the 4th of June 2015. The team spoke to residents, relatives and staff using survey methods. They also made general observations during their time at the home.
The team reported that the home was clean and well presented. The report also indicated that the new manager was having a positive impact on the home. There were a few concerns raised by residents, the main one being that one resident had experienced difficulties making it to the bathroom on time as the staff were too stretched to help.
The report made a number of recommendations. These included repairing the downstairs toilet, and monitoring the temperature of meals taken in residents’ rooms. The team also recommended that the management of the home be stabilised to avoid disruption.
The report included a response from the provider. The provider was happy with the visit and reported that they had made a number of changes in response to the report’s recommendations.
