Summary of report content

This is an enter and view report conducted by Healthwatch Bucks 17 November, 2016. During the visit Healthwatch representatives spoke to 8 people, which included a mix of staff and residents. The visit was unannounced, though a two week window for the visit was given.

Overall the home was found to be operating to a good standard. Residents seemed to be happy with the care they were receiving. There was some noticeable lack of choice on menu and activities, though this is addressed in the provider response.

Recommendations were made as part of this report. A response from the home manager has been attached.

Summary of recommendations:

- Ensure a daily picture menu is always available near to where residents eat to assist those who have difficulty reading.

- Make sure activity schedules for inside the home and in the community are again available in picture format to enable residents to access this information themselves.

- Ensure there is a range of activities on offer to residents inside the home.

- Serve some vegetables or salad with evening meals to add colour and obvious health benefits.
