Healthwatch Leicester and Healthwatch Leicestershire visited Jubilee Medical Practice on 13 May 2024 to gather patient views of the service, observe the facilities and operation, and observe patient access. A total of 591 people responded to a survey sent to registered patients prior to the visit.
Over two thirds of survey respondents said that it was “difficult” or “very difficult” to get through to the Jubilee Medical Practice via telephone. Two thirds of respondents also said they are ‘sometimes’ or ‘never’ given an option of seeing a doctor or the nurse. Around three quarters of respondents were satisfied with the quality of medical care and treatment at the practice, and the reception service. However, less that half of respondents said they were satisfied with their appointments.
The report also includes observations on the reception and waiting areas, appointment booking processes, accessibility, patient information, staffing, and patient involvement. The report contains 12 recommendations. The Jubilee Medical Practice were in the process of actioning the recommendations.
