On 6 March 2025, Healthwatch Surrey visited Jasmine House, a short break respite care service for adults with a learning disability and health care needs. The visit was requested by the learning disability management team at Surrey and Borders NHS Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
On the day, data were collected from the service manager, one service user, and five family members of service users. A further two five family members of service users provided feedback via a survey following the visit. Feedback was generally positive with family members praising the staff and commented feeling “safe” when their family member was staying. Healthwatch Surrey made five recommendations in the report, relating to scheduling stays, transport, and updating the small garden.
