Healthwatch Leicester and Leicestershire carried out an Enter and View visit to Hayes Park Nursing Home on 7 August 2026. Overall, the home was found to be welcoming, clean and well maintained, with residents speaking positively about the care they received. Staff were observed to be attentive, kind and respectful, and the manager was highly visible and engaged with residents throughout the visit.
Residents reported feeling safe, well cared for and involved in decisions about their daily lives. They praised the food, activities and support provided by staff, with one resident describing staff as “like family”. The home offered a range of activities including music, arts and crafts, games and sensory activities, while families were encouraged to visit freely and remain involved in residents’ lives. Staff also described positive working relationships and good support from management.
A small number of issues were identified. One resident highlighted loneliness because of language barriers, and another expressed a wish to have more opportunities to go out. Healthwatch also noted that one Authorised Representative who uses a wheelchair experienced access difficulties on arrival, although the home stated that support was offered promptly and that they regularly assist visitors with mobility needs.
Healthwatch concluded that Hayes Park Nursing Home provides a caring and supportive environment where residents generally feel happy and well looked after. Positive findings included staff interactions, resident choice, family involvement and the activity programme. No major concerns were identified, although the report highlighted opportunities to further improve accessibility, social inclusion and opportunities for residents to leave the home more frequently.
