Summary of report content

Glenroyd Medical Practice is located within the Moor Park Health and Leisure complex on the first floor in North Blackpool.

The visit was arranged as part of Healthwatch Blackpool’s enter and view schedule, was conducted on 22nd August and 23rd August 2017 where 48 people participated to offer their views.

Observation by the enter and view representatives reported that:

The environment appeared clean and tidy and the surgery appeared accessible and had some dementia friendly adaptions.

The practice got a red rating for its overall access rating as there looked to be a mixed reaction over the easiness of getting appointments with just over half of the patients surveyed felt that their experience of booking appointments ‘could be improved’ with a smaller number saying it was ‘poor’.

The practice received a green rating for the overall quality rating as the majority of patients said that they was happy with medical staff as well as mostly being happy with non-medical staff. Of the patients surveyed, 100% of them said they were ‘satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with the care provided to them.

It was also reported that most patients had not heard of the surgeries Patient Participation Group.

The enter and view team raised some issues based on their findings with the practice manager stating what action has been taken to address these.
