Summary of report content

Healthwatch Bracknell Forest undertook an Enter and View visit at Fourways Care Home on 1 April 2026. The theme was to look at independence and choice with a focus on activities and food.

A dementia walk around was conducted as part of the Enter and View.

Healthwatchfound that the manager had made some innovative changes to the home in terms of helping residents be more independent and which have not been seen in any other visit.

Residents and staff were happy with the care home. The garden was being updated under the supervision of one of the residents to make it more colourful and to encourage greater use.

The team spoke to four residents and received completed surveys from 8 relatives and 5 members of staff. The manager was also spoken to in order to gain further information around the challenges faced and hospital discharge was mentioned, which has been a recurring theme.
