Healthwatch Blackpool conducted an Enter and View on Feng Shui Care Home, Blackpool, a care home which offers accommodation for up to 20 people who require nursing or personal care. The visit was conducted on 9th December 2015, was arranged as part of Healthwatch Blackpool's enter and view scheduled and on the day of the visit, 9 residents were spoken with to give their views.
All bedrooms have en-suite facilities. The care home also has a hairdressing saloon and therapy room with the home also having a secure
entrance.
Observation by the enter and view representatives reported that:
In general the comments and observations were mainly positive with the residents giving positive feedback about different factors about the care home. The feedback also included comments which stated that the residents felt safe and secure with the staff and that they felt like they were looked after properly.
The only issue which was to arise was regarding wheelchair access issues with one resident feeling that the home was not fully equipped for disabled residents stating that the lift access was not to their liking, reducing their accessibility to a toilet where it was stated there was only one available on the ground floor.
However, after being consulted about this, the care home responded by saying they have got 2 toilets on the ground front along with a disabled bath on the first floor.
