Summary of report content

Healthwatch Havering undertook an Enter and View visit to Emerson Court care home on 6 November 2019.

The home was in an old building and Healthwatch felt that it needed redecoration.

All residents were living with dementia at various stages. End of life care was available when required.

Staff kept careful records to monitor that residents were being fed and hydrated.  Staff had access to appropriate training.  Residents had kept their own GP on admission to the home.  They also had access to a chiropodist and to dental treatment.

There were two recommendations about the decoration of the building and the need to visit night staff on a regular basis
