Summary of report content

Healthwatch Warwickshire conducted an enter and view visit on Dr Reily & Partners GP surgery in Bedworth on the 8th November 2016.

The surgery has 3 GPs and 3 practice nurses and serves 6300 patients.

Observations from the visit mention that the surgery is in a modern purpose built building which was fresh and clean although there was a broken switch/fuse box cover hanging off wall to the left of the entrance. Also noted was that there was no parking on the street but limited disabled parking is provided to the side of the surgery.

25 people completed a questionnaire giving their views and rating areas as either poor, average, good or excellent.

Comments from patients included:

“Takes ages to get an appointment.”

“Very good, today GP came out for me.”

“Can’t fault them.”

The report makes two recommendations:

- Surgery to look at concerns raised by patients in regard to the appointment booking system. It was noted that some patients were not aware of the online booking system. Better promotion of this could help to reduce phone traffic, such as getting the PPG involved in promoting online booking to patients or by the surgery carrying out a targeted campaign to raise patients’ awareness.

- A review of the information on display is needed to ensure current posters are relevant and up to date.

The report does not contain a response from the provider.
