Summary of report content

On 23rd September 2019, Healthwatch Wigan and Leigh undertook an Enter and View visit to Dr Khatri & Partners surgery to capture the experiences of patients, carers/family members and staff. they spoke to 27 patients, 5 carers/family members and 7 staff members.

They found that all the patients and their family members rated the practice as good, very good or excellent and that they felt listened to and were always treated with dignity and respect. Nearly all felt that they had enough time during appointments to speak with the GP/nurse/clinician. However, few did feel rushed on occasions. All rated the staff overall as very good or excellent stating that the staff are always friendly and helpful, and the GPs are fantastic. Staff took time to listen to their worries and explain tests and treatments. Most patients also reported that it was easy for them to get an appointment on the day with a GP of your choice. Some patients felt that they needed more privacy at reception and a permanent female doctor. Healthwatch staff also spoke to the Practice Manager who rated the surgery as very good, explaining that there is always room for improvement but that the surgery offers a fantastic service to its patients.

The report made five recommendations and contains a response from the providers for each.
