Summary of report content

Healthwatch Cheshire West conducted an Enter and View visit to Crawfords Walk on the 10th of November 2015. Crawfords Walk is a 137 bedded purpose built home comprised of 4 units. The team spoke to residents, relatives and staff using survey methods. They also made general observations during their visit.

The report indicated that the residents were reasonably happy with the quality of their care, however, there were areas that could be improved. In particular, residents commented that they wanted to have more choice in relation to meals. The report noted that the premises was clean and tidy, but could benefit from some refurbishment. The team observed positive interactions between the residents and members of staff.

The report made several recommendations. Two of these related to improving activity availability at the home. There was also a recommendation to reduce the size of one of the wards to make it more manageable.

The report did not include a response from the provider.
