Summary of report content

This Enter and View report reviews the quality of care provided at Coniston Lodge Care Centre, a nursing and residential care home supporting older people and residents with a range of complex health conditions. Healthwatch Hounslow visited the service to observe care delivery, assess the environment, and gather feedback from staff about residents’ experiences and the operation of the home.

The visit identified a number of positive features, including a welcoming environment, active engagement between staff and residents, varied activities, good visitor access and evidence of ongoing improvements under a new management team. However, concerns were noted around staff understanding of falls prevention and bedrail use, accessibility issues, complaints recording, training needs and consistency in the application of care procedures.

Healthwatch Hounslow concluded that the service was making progress and that managers had a clear understanding of areas requiring improvement. The report highlighted positive leadership and quality improvement work already underway, while recommending continued focus on staff training, resident safety, accessibility, activity provision and the recording of complaints and outcomes
