Summary of report content

Healthwatch Leicester and Leicestershire carried out an announced Enter and View visit to Clarendon Park Medical Centre on 24 November 2025 to gather patient views, observe how the service operates, and assess accessibility within the practice. Authorised Representatives observed interactions, facilities, and patient flow, while wider patient feedback was collected through a GP text‑messaging survey, which generated 310 responses.

Key findings indicated that the practice is clean, bright, clearly signposted, and accessible via step‑free entrances. Staff were seen interacting positively with patients, and waiting areas contained clear health information, breastfeeding‑friendly spaces, an accessible toilet, and notices on complaints, chaperones, and data privacy. Survey results showed mixed experiences: although many patients were offered same‑day appointments and rated opening hours, reception, and clinical care positively, others reported difficulty booking, long phone waits, and challenges with continuity of care. Equipment issues such as the broken lift and out‑of‑order check‑in screen also impact ease of access.

The report made four recommendations, focusing on improving appointment access and continuity, reviewing triage and digital access, repairing essential equipment, and enhancing overall patient experience. Outcomes of these recommendations were not yet reported.
