Summary of report content

Healthwatch Bucks conducted an unannounced Enter and View visit, as part of a planned set of visits looking at the care provided, specifically around how the homes are able to support residents with additional needs.

Healthwatch Bucks visited Chiltern View, on 03/08/2015.

There were 8 individuals with learning and/or physical disabilities receiving residential care at Chiltern View on the date of Healthwatch Bucks visit. Healthwatch Bucks talked to 3 members of staff and 1 resident. Healthwatch Bucks were told that only 2 residents were able to verbalise. Healthwatch Bucks were aware of 4 other members of staff, though they did not make themselves known to us. It was unclear what role 2 of them were carrying out as we did not see them interacting with residents.

The summary of findings included: Chiltern View is a calm and relaxed home where residents seemed very comfortable; The staff Healthwatch Bucks talked to were able to communicate well with the residents and had some time to sit and talk to them.
